TWO goals from Nyasha Mushekwi and Method Mwanjali were all Sundowns needed to get back to winning ways as they walloped Oscar Machapa’s Moroka Swallows in a mid week Absa Premiership fixture played at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday night.

Mushekwi scored the opener in less than 20 seconds after kick off before Warriors defender Method Mwanjali killed the game with a low shot taken just outside the box to beat Nigerian shot-stopper Greg Etafia in goals for Moroka Swallows.

The win saw “the Brazilians” as Sundowns are affectionately called, moving a place up the log standings to settle for third place with 35 points, 3 points shy of log leaders Orlando Pirates.

The same cannot be said about Moroka Swallows who are apparently sitting on the wrong end of the table occupying the 15th position, three points ahead of Black Aces but a full six points adrift of the safety of 14th place, presently occupied by Maritzburg United.

Mushekwi, who seems to have rediscovered his goal scoring formula after scoring another in the previous game against Platinum Stars, is now the top goal scorer in the Brazilians camp with six goals after 18 matches together Katlego ‘Killer’ Mphela.

Mwanjali, Mushekwi and Lionel Mtizwa were in the starting line-up for Sundowns, Mtizwa was relieved from the game after 71 minutes after Coach Antonio Habas sent on Esrom Nyandoro a minute after Mushekwi had been substituted for Sundowns’ new signing Theko Modise.

Machapa played the whole 90 minutes for Moroka Swallows.
