PROLIFIC boxer Charles Manyuchi has been granted a chance to improve his impressive professional record when he fights Isaiah Chilufya in a non sanctioned match scheduled for Mulungushi Conference Centre in Lusaka on January 29.

The 21 year old Zimbabwean Welterweight Champion will fancy his chances against Chilufya with 13 professional victories and one defeat under his belt while his less experienced opponent boasts of two victories and a loss.

Borris Zhneider the organizer of the bout warned Manyuchi not to be complacent as the Zambian is in tip top shape.

“Chilufya may not have as much professional experience but he is fit and raring to go, so he should not be taken lightly.” Zhneider said.

Manyuchi’s coach Denver Wynne on the other had was upbeat that his boxer would emerge the victor come January 29.

“I am confident that Charles will defeat Chilufya because we have experience on our side, he is undefeated in the 31 matches he fought at amateur ranks so there is no way he will be beaten by Chilufya,” Wynne said.

Manyuchi has been training intensively for the eight round bout sparring 16 rounds nonstop with his sparring partners.

The match comes just over a month after the relentless Manyuchi sucker punched fellow Zimbabwean Clemence Mutiyale knocking him out in the first minute of the first round at Ochi City in Mazowe.

Last year he also beat Namibia’s Edson Kandukwa from Namibia before rounding off his international rampage by thrashing Page Tshesani of South Africa, he vowed not to break his winning streak as long as his fans keep supporting him.

“I will not let my fans down especially my father, the Celebration Church and Edson Zvobgo Jnr my sponsor,” Manyuchi said.

Manyuchi will forage into Zambia flanked by boxing compatriots Silas Mandeya from Alfonso Zvenyika’s “Mosquito” stable and Tinashe Madziwana from Epworth who will also be hunting for national pride at the boxing gala.
